They require the least mastery of video game controllers and inputs and often cover less nerdy subject matter than many AAA games. Ironically, most of the genres people are mentioning here: text adventures, VNs, menu-based simulators, and even some turn-based games, should theoretically be the most accessible genres for people who aren't used to playing console games.
